I’ve got sometimes the people I interview touching the microphone cable producing a sort of thump sound (I have attached a sample). In some cases, I can delete it without affecting the recording, but sometimes it coincides with the person talking and I cannot just delete it without deleting a part of a word. I wonder if it’s possible to delete this sound without affecting the speech part.
High pass filter at 130Hz 48dB/octave removes a lot of that thump without affecting the (female) speech.
Then nibble-away at what’s left of the thump with spectral editing tools.
