Recording with Tascam US-122L

Hi,

I’ve been using Audacity for a long time. I recenlty bought a new laptop with Windows 7 64-bit and a Tascam US-122L Soundcard. I want to record audio from my line-in of the Tascam soundcard with audacity. But i can’t find a way to do so.

When I plug my tascam in, I do not see it on my audio hardware devices in windows or audacity. When is open up my FL Studio is does show up on Asio4all devices.

I hope you guys can help me with this information, I apreciate it !!

I use:

Audacity 1.2.6
Windows 7 64-bit

Asio supplies really well made and popular software drivers. Unfortunately, they insist on being paid for them, so free Audacity doesn’t support them.

See if there is a Windows driver for your device.

Thanks for your reply.

But I don’t fully understand what I have to do now, and what I have to pay for.

You don’t (necessarily) have to pay for anything. The point is that Audacity can’t include ASIO support and remain free.

According to the Tascam page for this device http://www.tascam.com/details;9,15,69,16.html there are no Windows 7 drivers.

You might want to contact Tascam support and ask if and when Windows 7 drivers will become available for it. You might also want to click the “Resources” tab on that page and download the documents on how to install drivers and notes on Windows Media Center.

Oh yes, you might want to upgrade from Audacity 1.2.6 to the latest 1.3.10 beta. The Windows elves here in the forum may be better able to describe what works and what doesn’t when you try to run 1.2.6 on Windows 7.

Maybe you meant to say we’re much more likely to be able to help you in 1.3.
