I have a Yamaha KX49 USB Studio Keyboard. When I first plugged the keyboard in, the PC recognized it. I am trying to record a piano track in Audacity, but it won’t let me. I have the keyboard plugged into my PC by a USB chord. I am using MME>>Internal Microphone>>Conexent Sound. But, it won’t pick up the keyboard input. What is going wrong??
The USB port is MIDI, not audio. Audacity does not support MIDI. I assume there is an analog audio and/or headphone-out, and that can be used into the line-input on a soundcard. (The mic-input on a laptop is the wrong interface.)
Your keyboard should have come with Cubase, which does support MIDI.
