Recording Volume

I recorded several spots at a normal volume and then recorded some and the volume is much lower. Is there a way to bring the volume up to equal my first recordings. Where is the setting for recording volume so I will know in the future.

The Amplify effect. (You can also attenuate the level by entering an negative dB value.)

There is a Recording Volume Slider next to the microphone icon.

With some USB devices you get the direct digital audio stream and you can’t adjust the recording volume. And/or Windows Microphone Boost or Windows “Enhancements” can sometimes mess-with the audio stream.

As a rule it’s difficult to maintain a consistent level with “live” recording. You should usually be leaving some headroom and then typically you’ll be adjusting-up the volume in post-production anyway. (And you’ll probably be applying some compression and/or limiting to bring-up the loudness if you are making “spots”.)
