I have used Audacity for a number of years…various versions on different machines with different configs. I love it, and especially love being able to record things both off and on the net.
However, in all cases/configs, etc., whenever I record anything from the Net, the resulting output volume is too low. (I’d say 1/3rd to 1/2 the volume of the original).
It’s especially annoying when I add one of these recordings to my I-Pod/play it in the car - I have to jack up the volume to hear the recording, and then the next, non-audacity item
that plays is way too loud. Very annoying.
I have the “microhone icon” recording volume slider set all the way to the right (1.00).
Is the low volume of the recordings normal, or what am I doing wrong all these years?
Current settings:
Playback Volume 0.64 Recording Volume 1.00 Audio Host: MME Playback Device: Speakers (HTO CLARO) Recording Device: Stereo Mix (HTO CLARO) Recording Channels: 2 (Stereo) Recording
Any help appreciated. Thanks!
