Recording on Win 11 w/Audacity v 3.1.3

Hi folks,

I’m trying to record just the audio from YouTube videos playing in my Chrome browser.

I’m set to MME and Windows Sound Mapper, and at first it didn’t record anything. I played around with my headphones and speaker setup inside the Windows Sound settings, and was finally able to get the recording level to show some life.

Only problem now is it sounds like an old 80s mixtape because it captures ambient sound as well.

How do I set up to capture only the streaming audio? Or is that even possible?

choose Windows WASAPI host and the (loopback) input choice in Device Toolbar. This will record computer playback
