Recording Live - need Help - Please

Hi & Hello to one and all,

I am trying to Record Live using
a Laptop - Windows & Mac - Motu M2 and Microphone

What I am looking to do is following:
Record Live with a some form of a EQ Plugin as many Bands as possible,
so that I can adjust what I Hearing, High’s, Mid’s and Low’s Multiple frequentes while Recording.
There must be a way to do it ???
For all help given I sag Thank you in Advance.

Audacity doesn’t apply effects while recording, only after recording. Usually that’s a good thing because you don’t have to permanently alter the audio.

What are you recording? What kind of room/environment? What microphone do you have?

Hi DVDdoug,

What I am trying to do is to Single out certain frequencies, which is very important to me.
I need to shut down all frequencies from about 60 to 20000Hz
I am looking for specific frequency.
The only so accomplish this is with a Live EQ either per Plugin or an Analog equalizer, maybe ?

Audcaity has spectrogram display, which shows recorded what is being recorded, (after ~1 second delay).

I need to shut down all frequencies from about 60 to 20000Hz

A Low Pass Filter can reduce/remove everything above 60Hz.

I am looking for specific frequency.

Analyze → Plot Spectrum may also be helpful. (It only works on a limited number of samples so it won’t display the spectrum of a whole song, etc.)

You can combine high-pass and low-pass filters to make a band-pass or band-reject filter. There is also a Notch Filter (to cut a narrow frequency range), a Filter Curve EQ, a Graphic EQ, and several Spectral filters.
