Can not reduce the recording level using the slide bar in version 3.5.1. Loopback recordings are clipping and causing audio distortion on a Windows 11 PC. During recording the record level slider does control the speaker volume but does nothing for recording level. Have the same control issue on a Windows 10 PC but the recording level is just low enough to not cause distortion.
Turn OFF Audible Input Monitoring.

Problem has been solved! My recording loopback clipping was eliminated by turning off Audio Enhancements on my Windows 11 PC. It was not an Audacity issue.
Go to Setting > System > Sound > Properties > Audio Enhancements then select OFF.
