I’m somewhat new to all of this. I’m trying to record audio straight from the web. Like playing a You tube video but I just want to record the audio. I can’t figure out how to get it set up.
Use WASAPI loopback as your recording device.
I have that picked but now I get a huge echo.
Turn OFF Audible Input Monitoring.
Otherwise you are recording what you are listening to, then listening again to what you’ve just recorded, and recording it again and you have an infinite feedback loop.
Rather than using Audacity, I’d advise you to use ClipGrab instead. With Audacity you can only record in real-time but ClipGrab lets you download and convert in one smooth operation which takes a few moments.
