Recording form Usb Turntable into Audacity on Mac

USB-I’m Using A MacMini server OS 10.7.4- 2GHz intel Core I7,8 GB 1333MHz DDDR3/ ATLP60 usb turntable/ Audacity 2.0.1 software.
Connecting via usb. No Input into audacity. I have audacity playing click track so I can hear output works. I have software playback on enable yet cannot hear LP or see input meters responding to LP on Audacity.I cannot seem to control input levels in Midi Audio set up on mac. I cannot hear LP through computer headphones.

Audio-Tried going through sound card using line level and I get playback distortion when monitoring through sound card (external). Audacity does not see input turntable level.Turntable can go through computer input but level way too low even when Line level turntable preamp engaged.
Rebooted computer, relaunched software. Triple checked all setting in accordance to Audacity, Mac, and ATL-60 manual.Used different usb ports. unplugged ac cord on mac, unplugged all usb connections then plugged in and restarted and relaunched all related programs.Started from scratch. Uninstalled and reinstalled Audacity. Is it Mac, turntable, or audacity? please help.
Nothing works.

Close Audacity. Plug in the turntable and turn it on.

Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input. Do you see “USB Audio Device” or something similar. select it. Play something and see that the blue ball sound meter jumps. If you don’t get that, then there is a turntable or system problem.

Make sure Sound > Output is still pointed to your speakers.

Now open Audacity. Roll down the Device Tool bar and select the same USB Audio Device.

Audacity > Preferences > Recording. Make sure Software Playthrough is selected.

Click once in the red recording meters and they will wake up and meter the sound. Play something.

Did any of that not work?
