I just got a decent mic setup and I’m using Audacity 3.2.5 as my record tool.
Windows 10, latest updates.
It start a new stereo track every time I hit record, but I just want to record to a mono track I created.
Is there some setting to permanently change this default behavior?
I’d prefer something that changes the button function to having to use a shortcut.
What sort of mic is it, and how is it connected to your computer?
Behringer Ultravoice XM8500 though a Bomge BMG22 USB audio interface.
Why would that have anything to do with new track creation on record.
It’s a mono Mic, Whhy does audacity insist on making stereo tracks.
Use Input 1 on the interface and set Audacity to record “1 channel (mono)” in the “Audio Setup” menu. (Click the big “Audio Setup” button).
