I recently bought a MU-75 USB condenser microphone and the sound is amazing, but i have this annoying buzzing in the background
Sample here
I have tried to uninstall the driver multiple times, but it haven’t fixed the problem.
I have Realtek HD Audio Manger installed but i can’t configure my microphone in there (my guess is becuase its a USB microphone, i could be wrong)
I have tried to attach the microphone to another computer but it was the same, the buzzing was still there.
P.S: I dont want to have the noise removed from my recording, i want the noise from from my microphone, so i dont have to remove the noise from my recordings
P.P.S: Im using audacity version 2.0.5
I think it’s just normal noise from the microphone’s internal preamp. There might be some acoustic room noise too. The background noise in a room becomes more apparent when it’s played-back through speakers. If you’ve ever recorded a live event or used a camcorder, you’ve probably noticed that the noise on the recording seems worse than what you heard while making the recording.
The noise level is a little high, but it’s not terrible (the average is around -47dB). How much did you pay for that mic? (I’d describe that as “hiss” rather than “buzz” or “hum”.)
Every preamp has some noise and the trick is to get a strong signal for a strong signal-to-noise ratio. Since you can’t do anything about the noise (with your existing hardware setup), the only thing you can do is try to get a strong signal (get louder, or get closer to the mic).
A better preamp will have lower noise than a cheap preamp. A better USB mic should have lower noise. I would assume most “studio style” USB mics $100 - $300 USD) have lower noise than yours.
Most USB mics have fixed gain. With a regular microphone preamp, you can turn-down the gain to reduce the noise when the signal is strong enough.

Noise is an analog problem.

Yes. It’s better to prevent the noise in the 1st place. Professionals still record in soundproof studios with high-quality, low-noise, equipment.
