Record Audio Through Mackie ProFX16v3 in Audacity

Hello,

I have a Mackie ProFX16v3 Mixer and I would like to record audio through the mixer directly into Audacity.

I want to use the USB cable that the Mackie mixer came with and I’ve already installed the USB driver from Mackie. In Audacity I have the option to select the ProFX for recording, but no matter what I choose from MME, Windows DirectSound or Windows WASAPI, I still cannot record any audio.

Is it possible to record audio from the mixer with this USB cable or no?
And if so where do I go wrong?

I’m sorry if this seems unprofessional like but I’m new to this stuff.

Thank you.

There MIGHT be some settings on the mixer that have to be configured. Check your user manual.

Then, are you able to select the Mackie (or “USB… something”) as your recording device?

What happens next? An error message? A silent recording? Recording won’t start?

…If you are getting a silent recording, the recording volume slider is now “hidden” under Audacity’s recording meters. (Usually with a USB device the recording slider doesn’t do anything anyway but you can try.)

Try Listen To This Device to make sure Windows is getting a signal.

As far as I know there are no settings needed to be configured on the mixer. (I’ve searched about this but nothing)

In Audacity it shows me the option to choose Line (ProFX) as a Recording option, but other than that nothing. This option appears in MME, DirectSound as well as WASAPI, but whenever I try to record something it simply won’t record, no sound wave appears and no sound at all.

In Audacity where you can see the Audio Level, it indicates that there is some audio signal.
