Raw data into WAV

Hi, I’m a very basic user of audacity as I only use it to record DJ sets.
I normally save the raw data and once this is done I also convert to WAV which I can then playback. I forgot to do the latter a few weeks ago and now have a folder with a few hundred clips that I need to get back into Audacity to convert to WAV but this has me stumped.
I’ve tried to import but it will only let me import one at a time and I’ve tried to open file but it opens every clip as an individual in Audacity which usually crashes my system due to overload.
Being a total novice with this I’m hoping for some help on what is likely to be the most basic functionality but I’ve got to start somewhere.

Thanks in advance
Paul

Do you mean that you Save the Audacity Project?
If you do, then unfortunately you are faced with the task of opening one project at a time and exporting the WAV file.
We strongly encourage users to export WAV files immediately after recording if for no other reason than as a back-up.

Are you trying to open the AU files in the _data folder? If so, open the AUP file instead. See here:

Gale

thanks for the replies.
If I have to open one at a time then it might take a while as the set was almost 5 hours long.
I’ll try the AUP route and see what happens with that

Cheers
Paul

You don’t manually open the .AU files, just open the project .AUP files (as Gale wrote).
See here for an explanation of what an Audacity Project is: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_projects.html
