Problem getting audio files onto a usb flash drive

Having a problem getting audio files transferred onto a Usb drive. Have windows 10 computer. The files were exported as wav into directory/list of audio files.

The computer detects the usb stick but no option to save or send files to it. I downloaded an mp3 converter and tried transferring a file as mp3 and message said already converted. Computer is a refurbished with Groove to play music, download NCH mp3 converter.

Need to get a copy of audio files to person without audacity to play in. Manual says can convert to mp3 so another can play.

I’m missing something on the computer or audacity windows. Check computer for needed software?

Thanks

So your problem isn’t the flash drive? Your problem is making MP3 files?

Audacity can export as MP3… File → Export → Export as MP3.

If you are using an old version of Audacity you may need to upgrade. The LAME MP3 encoder used to be an optional add-on but now it’s built-in.

The computer detects the usb stick but no option to save or send files to it.

Any files? Make a simple text file (Notepad?) and see if that works.

Mac TextEdit has two speeds. The fancy-pants one lets me select fonts, graphics, screen formatting, yadda, yadda, but I use the plain text version…

…that doesn’t try to “help me.” I wrote part of my web page and simple programs in that. It’s good for testing. Does notepad have that?

The USB should have a drive letter provided by Windows. Use Windows Explorer to access it

Perhaps your stick is write-protected…
