Earlier this year my wife successfully recorded from the PC with older versions of Audacity, but now using Audacity 3.1, suddenly she has been getting the following error message:
Error opening recording device.
Error code: 0 Success.

}
}
Suddenly no sound input (microphone icon) seems to be installed – that field is blank and there are no choices on dropdown menu.
In Manage Sound Devices, Choose your input device: The field says “No input devices found”.
In Windows 10 sound settings: “Test your microphone”, she clicked on “Troubleshoot”, and she could hear the sound on her PC. It ran a quick scan to troubleshoot, but the troubleshooter could not find the issue.
Any help or suggestions to remedy this problem would be appreciated. She is running Win10 with 16Gb RAM.
