Previous track printing onto new track when overdubbing (on Ubuntu).

I’m running Audacity on Linux PC’s (I have 3 x desktops, one is running Audacity 2.4.2 on Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.3 and the other two are running Audacity 3.4.2 on Ubuntu Studio 24.04.1 LTS).

I have the same problem with Audacity on all the PC’s: when I try to overdub the previous track prints onto the new track.

Any ideas?
