Plugins installation, operating system's error pop up

Hi, I am starter in all this. I work on 3.7.5 version of Audacity and have a low cost laptop,Win7 64bit, though the app works fine, but I cannot install any of plugins. Since I am writing this away from laptop I cant say what was the error code which system pop up every time i tried to install some plugin. I would be greatful for life if someone knows what might be problem here and what can I do to get some of those awesome plugins.

Wish you a perfect health and lots of killer tunes!

We would be happy if you don’t Double-Post. We see your first post OK. Can you delete the second, duplicate post?

Thanks,

I deleted your other post (which was in the wrong category).

but I cannot install any of plugins.

Exactly what plug-ins? Not all plug-ins are compatible with Audacity and technically it’s up to the plug-in developer.

Sorry, I would like free plugins as like as Muse Hub suite, and some of specific, I suppose, lone developers’ free plugins, which I saw in Audacity support web site, written on greenish background. I know I should report about that error code, and soon I will.

Of course the Muse Hub or plug-ins on the Audacity support site should work.

Most plug-ins come as a .exe file that has to be run to extract and install it the actual plug-in files which are .dll files. VSTs get installed to their own folder, usually a Steinberg folder and Audacity (usually) knows where to look.

Nyquist (.ny) are simple test files that simply have to be copied into the Audacity Plug-ins folder. Or there is Tools → Nyquist Plugin Installer which will copy the .ny file to the correct location.

Well, I download a plugin, and when I go to run it (. exe) that error appears, it contains kinda info that .dll are not able to be run or installed, and that is the very point where I stuck with the plugins. I’ll let you know what error exactly it’s about today, in order to solve ig, hopefully, we’ll manage. Here are some of PC’s info which, I suppose, you have to know: Processor i5 2520M, CPU 2.5 GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB ROM, 64bit OS, Windows 7 Pro 2009, GPU Intel 3000HD.

“The procedure entry point SetThreadDescription cannot be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll” - that’s what prevents me to install plugins.
