I’m running Mac OS 10.13.6 with Audacity version 2.3.0. It froze when I was editing and I had to force quit. When I reopened it, it asked if I wanted to recover the file. I said yes, then it gave me the AUP file with the sound literally dead. Like no soundwaves anymore, just a flat line. I exited and figured it’d be ok because I had saved it literally right before it froze, but the saved file still turned up with a flat line. Please help!! Is there anything I can do to get it back??
Sadly the auto-recovery can’t work wonders (and oftentimes just doesn’t work). I am finishing up my bands album and lost one project (but had a backup) and another recovered fully with no loss at all. It’s a random thing.
Best I can say is always have 2-3 backups. I use iCloud, Google Drive, and OneDrive.
Thanks. I still have a backup of the wav, it’s just that all the editing I had done is gone now…deep sigh
