please check the input device setting and the project sample rate

Hi
Bought a InVaFoCo cassette with USB andAudacity to transfer tapes to computer. But I get this error all the time:
“please check the input device setting and the project sample rate”
It is as if the computer does not really register the InVaFoCo.
Can anyone help?
Thank you in advance.

Ensure that you connect the USB device before launching Audacity.
If you attach, or remove any audio devices while Audacity is running, you will need to tell Audacity to “Rescan Audio Devices” (near the bottom of the Transport menu).

We see a lot of problems with these devices. They are manufactured (very cheaply) in China, then re-badged as various “brands”. None of those brands are better than any other.
One of the most common problems is that they temporaril lose their connection. When this happens, you will see the error that you describe in Audacity.

The first thing to check is that the USB connectors are securely connected - if possible, replace the USB lead with a known good lead.

If you see the error that you describe,

  1. Check that the device is still enabled as a recording device in the Windows Sound settings.
  2. Then tell Audacity to “Rescan Audio Devices” (near the bottom of the Transport menu)
  3. Then check that you have the correct setting in the Device Toolbar.
