OSX 10.6.8, Audacity 2.0.5, Installed in Mac Pro using toslink input to preamp and turntable. Recording length, level ok, no noise issue but plays back at maybe 1/2 speed. Not clear how bit rate of ADC and recording quality might be affecting playback speed or maybe I am just overlooking something in the controls.
It’s hard to get an actual speed change. TOSLink is a cousin to AES/EBU digital which is 48000, 16-bit, Stereo. Is that what you have Audacity set for? Koz
Yep, I tried others but 192000 Hz/24-bit does exactly the same thing. I guess that I will have to try analog. I had really hoped that my outboard ADC would be a nice upgrade in audio quality but maybe the onboard ADC in my Mac Pro will do the job well enough. Thanks for the advice though.
So what device exactly are you using for Audacity playback?
