I have two different copies of the same recording, both with issues. One plays at the correct speed and pitch, but was transferred ‘in the red’ so distorts in places. The other is cleaner but is sped up by around 3% (I think there must have been an old cassette deck somewhere in the lineage on that one). What I would like to do is break down both copies into separate instrument stems and reconstruct using the best version of each. I am trying to match the one that plays fast using the ‘change speed and pitch’ effect but it is proving impossible to get it right to a point where the different tracks won’t drift slightly from each other when combined. Does anyone know of another effect, or a different plug in or software, that will take the sped up version and match it precisely in both speed and pitch to the correct one?
