Is there a way to remove a recoding source option from Audacity? I have a few sources and even when the correct source is picked when recording starts, it’s picking up the wrong source. I have to toggle to another source and back to the correct one to fix. I want that source enabled for playback, but not for recording.
When you say “source” are you referring to another window containing a project or track(s) in the same project window.?
In the same project window. I was not able to remove the source from the Audacity interface, I think the instructions for that may be antiquated, and when disabling some devices it caused some other issues so I am going back to toggling. I have an odd setup for recording LPs from two turntables, then have a third source for an M-Audio device interface that has speakers attached.
To prevent ANY track in a project from playing back audibly select MUTE in the unwanted tracks (on the track control panel at the start of every track.)
You can also use VIEW menu to enable the MIXER and MUTE unwanted tracks there.
