Payment issue

Hello, today I downloaded Audacity after reading a review online. It helped me to make the decision the fact that I could have a 3 day free trial. However, when I tried to open the app I could not go forward before choosing a subscription. I chose the one week subscription, tested it for a short recording and closed the app. The next time I opened the app, in the same day, it requested a new subscription. On top of that, even though the app showed it was recording, it only saved a 2:55 minute part of the conversation.
I don’t seem to be able to get my money back from iTunes.
Has anybody encountered such a problem before?
