When recording from my usb turntable the pause button does not work. It also turns itself on and off during any quiet sections which is then apparent when playing back. I am using an Audio Technica turntable and a download version 3.0.4.
Make sure [u]Sound Activated Recording[/u] is OFF.

That and the “P” button on your keyboard should stop recording in place and then “P” starts it up again.
And all this is assuming Audacity is the only sound application running on your machine. No games, Skype, Zoom, Meetings, etc. Audacity doesn’t like competition.
