Only noise when recording YouTube audio

Hi,
When trying to record audio from YouTube (Firefox) I get violent noise, like feedback, and I can’t adjust the recording volume (it’s a 100). Sadly no music.
Windows 10. Windows WASAPI, Realtek Audio (loopback).
Any thoughts?

Turn OFF Audible Input Monitoring.

It creates an internal feedback loop when you are recording to what you’re listening to and then listening to what you’ve just recorded and recording it again after a short delay.

That can be normal with WASAPI loopback depending on your version of Windows, and your drivers.

Usually adjusting the playback level also affects what’s picked-up by loopback.

You can always run the Amplify effect after recording.
