Not Working with MAC, No Source

I’m using a MAC and I have audio on my desktop. I play the audio through the MAC’s speakers and want to record this. It works great on a Windows machine, but the Audacity on the MAC need a “recording device,” which there is not one – just the speakers.

I have tried for a long time to make it work, nothing. Maybe Apple doesn’t allow this. It’s v.3.4.2.

Appreciate any help.

Macs do not provide “system audio” as an input.

There are third-party system extensions (such as Blackhole) that get around this.

Your mileage may vary.
