I am pretty sure that I followed the FFmpeg installation instructions, and it seems to show up in Preferences / General, but it keeps telling me to restart to enable, and I have restarted numerous times, including restarting the computer, to no avail.
Today is my first day with Audacity, I just want to make mostly instrumental files (songs) from files (songs) that have some vocals. Any help would be appreciated.
Well, I sorta solved my problem; instead of using File / Import, I just dragged and dropped from a Finder window. Is this still a Beta? Shouldn’t it have worked as I first tried?
Anyway, I’ve trimmed a song, and now I’ll start another thread with my questions about that.
Mahalo. I am experiencing a steep learning curve, starting with realizing that most, perhaps all, of the song files in my Music library are m4a, so I probably didn’t need the extra download, did I?
If you mean FFmpeg, yeah, you shouldn’t need that to import m4a files, once the devs fix the issue.
