Noise Removal & Repair assistance

I create and edit my Blues Music podcasts using Audacity 3.7 and I need help understanding and processing the functions found in Audacity’s Noise Removal & Repair effect and Noise Gate. Among the Forum members are there any knowledgeable people I might contact that would help me better understand the process of editing out the extraneous noise associated with old 78 Blues recordings for a reasonable fee? I can be contacted at [email protected]. Thank you, Jamie

Audacity does not have native tools to remove crackle.
Audacity’s native noise-reduction just reduces hiss.

Thanks for your comment. Best regards,

Jamie

If you manage to find a copy of “click repair” it will run for 21 days without a license.

An alternative to “click repair” is WaveCorrector, (but I’ve never used it ). freeware.

There are DeCrackle plugin$ which work in Audacity, (try before you buy) …
