Sometimes there’s new things replacing known things. I think we need a smart noise reduction effect that automatically knows the settings of noise reduction and really reducing the noise without you hear any noise, because in the regular noise reduction effect there’s a little noise (smaller than before) and it’s not enough noise reduction for you, and you more reducing the noise and you damage the sound, a thing that you don’t want. We need the future of reducing noise.
Someone will correct me, but can’t you use the current noise reduction without the Profile step? That was a desirable upgrade for centuries. It still works best if you do provide the sample profile, but still.
Or are you working with the idea that “noise” is anything I don’t want. That’s a lot harder. You do still have to tell the application what you do want.
Skype, Zoom, Meetings, etc do pretty well with the idea of voice as a primary product and anything else is “noise.” They even do well with room echoes which was black magic for years.

Nowadays, more and more products are using AI for noise reduction, and their performance keeps improving. AI is definitely an unstoppable trend — maybe Audacity will add more AI features in future updates.
