Hi can anyone help me please, I used to be able to edit tracks but now cannot hear the sound on play back unless export the file out of audacity. Not sure if I have changed something or an update changed the play back sound. I have 3.7.3 version, thanks
I should add recording by any device clearly shows on wave form and all methods of recording work when exported onto desktop. I would like to edit without this complication. I have checked al settings etc and either I have done something stupid or a update has caused an issue. Thanks
Is your Playback Device correct? (Sometimes people plug-in a USB microphone or something and it tries to play through that.)
Also check the playback volume slider. If you don’t know this, the record & playback volume is now “hidden” under the record & playback meters.

Knew it, I did something stupid!! yes found those hidden sliders and yes recording 100% playback 6% whooppee thanks so much
