New to Audacity. Tech specs are Mac OS El Capitan vs 10.11.6 Audacity vs 2.3.1
Initial test using default audacity specs eg: Built in mic, built in output, system function OK, recording wavedorm visible. Plugged in external microphone, audacity recognizes it, audio monitor recognizes sound. Went to record, no waveform visible on audio tracks. Followed help instructions re, security settings, preetences, etc., to no avail. Note that system will record and waveform shows up in playback. Any suggestions/opinions appreciated, taking into consideration my lack of knowledge re: terminology, etc.
