Is there something I should install to get playback working again? A patch or driver? My computer is connected to my hifi set via USB. I have successfully ripped and stored an LP to my computer with audacity. I get sound only when I play my record player. There is nothing coming through windows media player when I play back the recording I made with Audacity. In fact all files in my storage made prior to installation will not play either. This problem began the instant I installed Audacity. I love your product and i am not complaining I just think there is something I am not doing. Something simple. Please advise.

How? How did you connect the turntable to the computer? It’s not unusual for Windows to assume a new USB device is both record and playback when you plug it in. So Windows may be thinking it needs to play music back to the turntable.
Unplug the turntable and I bet everything returns to normal.
What you’re really supposed to do is go into Windows preferences and tell it to play to your music system. Then you should be able to leave everything plugged in.
