HI all,
Im having some issues with audacity.
Ive purged and reinstalled 2.4.1 from the ppa -ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/audacity.
Ubuntu Studio 18.04
the nyquist plugins are missing.
so I re downloaded and copied a few .ny files
eg. /home/mark/.audacity-data/Plug-Ins/Firex.ny
but it still wont find them.(ie they don’t appear in the Manage plugins window)
I vaguely recall there was a nyquist folder in the /Analyze/folder. Cant find that anywhere now.
the Manage plugins menu has no nyquist files to enable or disable for that matter.
Specifically I was wanting to use the silence finder which im sure Ive used b4. But that was prior to many updates etc.
So not sure when why it disappeared.
Preferences/Effects/all are enabled
You will probably find that all Nyquist effects are missing.
This appears to be a packaging error in the ubuntuhandbook1 PPA build. I’d suggest that you report it to the PPA maintainer.
On my computer:
~/.audacity-data/plug-ins is empty
/usr/share/audacity doesn’t contain any /plug-ins folder
/usr/local/share/audacity doesn’t contains any /plug-ins folder
But Rhythm/track is not available here to download. It is written that it is part of Nyquist plug-ins shipped with current Audacity.
I don’t know what to do. Can you help me please?
Thank you so much Jim!
I’ve done what you told me to do. Audacity 2.2.1 is installed and the Nyquist plugins work properly now.
I’ve send an email to the ppa maintainer.
