No audio with Neewer Guitar Jack-to-USB

Hi, I’ve been having a bit of difficulty lately with my guitar-to-USB cable. I hadn’t had any issues until yesterday afternoon, when initially all that appeared on the waveform was was extremely distorted audio. Now, all I’m getting is a steady line of static. I’ve tried it through Voice Recorder as well, to no avail.

It’s not a particularly high quality cable, so it very well could have called quits on me, but I thought it worth checking in case this might be an issue with settings. I’m running Audacity 2.3.0 on Windows 10. Anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

I’d guess it’s the “cable”.

You can try [u]Listen to this device[/u]. If it’s working you’ll hear the guitar through your computer speakers/headphones without running Audacity or ay other application.

Are you sure the guitar is working? Have you tried it with a guitar amp?

Of course, it’s not “just a cable”. It’s an interface with an analog-to-digital converter, etc… Basically half a soundcard.
