No Audio in Audacity - Error code -9999 Unanticipated Host error

Hi

I’ve got a new PC install and I can’t get any audio into Audacity

I have a Komplete Audio 6 mk1 audio interface and I’m recording the input from a DJ mixer.

Whenever I press the record button, I get the -9999, but it doesn’t give much information as to what is exactly wrong.

Windows audio setting is set to:
Playback: Main Output Komplete Audio 6 WDM Audio
Recording: Input 1/2 Komplete Audio 6 WDM Audio

I’ve tried all the settings in Audacity:

Host: MME/Windows WSAPI

My Playback Device Options are:
Microsoft Sound Mapper
Main Output (Komplete Audio 6 WDM
Output 3/4 (Komplete Audio 6 WDM

My Recording Options are:
Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input
Input 3/4 (Komplete Audio 6 WDM
Input 1/2 Komplete Audio 6 WDM Audio

I hope this is a simple fix and I’m just doing something silly

Thanks in advance.

Check in PC Sound settings - Device properties
Microphone- make sure it’s Enabled.
I had the same issue and enabled microphone, working now

Thanks BigCam

That fixed it.

What a silly setting.

Many thanks
