I am a musician who has downloaded Audacity…so far its great Im learning how to use it thru trial and error but I`m having problems…the 1st major issue is when I went to register to this forum it never sent me a link to activate my account…when I try to redo it I get an error message so I started over with an alternate e-mail address…I need to contact a systems administer to get my messages sent to my primary address as I have lots of questions…how do I contact someone who can do this?
My other big problem is whenever I try to save my work I get an error message…I can access my files on Audacity but I cant play anything on Windows Media Player or send a file to anyone else.
I need serious help as I am not particularly computer literate but intend to use this program a lot and I need to be able to communicate effectively regarding this…please help…thank you

Nobody is going to send emails to you. Contact with the forum is exclusively through the forum.

One oddity of Audacity is that it does not save sound files. It only saves Audacity Projects which only open in another Audacity. To get real sound files that open everywhere, File > Export.
If you are going to do production with your music, then you should use the default Export of WAV (Microsoft). Those files are very large, but they are perfect quality and will open up on all three types of computer.
If you need to publish something to the web or personal music player, then you need MP3. MP3 files do not make good production, but they’re small and good for one-off listening.

ok…id still like to get my real e-mail in the system…is there anyone I can talk to?
When I try to export my files I get a message that says access denied…any thoughts on that?
The easiest way would be to re-register with your preferred e-mail address.
When you have re-registered I can delete your old account if you wish.
Note that Audacity is a free program and we do not have the resources to offer e-mail or telephone support.
You are probably trying to export files somewhere that you do not have permission to write. Check which folder you are exporting to and make sure that it is in your “user space” (for example in your “Documents” folder).
Some Mac installs insist on putting music into the System folders. Not a good idea. I make it a point to always manage files from the desktop.
