New vinyl ripping sessions

Okay there is just one thing that bothers me on the new audacity 4. When I finish to rip the side a I want to do side b separate. therefore I need to start another recording session. It’s just that I have to push the rewind button to go back to 0 otherwise Audacity 4 start the recording at the time where it was left off. Having it back to 0 by default would be great as in Audacity 3. Thanks.

Audacity 4 is just an experimental version (is it beta yet?). You should not use it for important work. This said, I do not understand your “problem”. And I am writing this with a view to Audacity 3.6; if version 4 has a completely different behaviour, then please tell me.

When you finish side A, you just can turn the LP and start recording side B. You need to separate tracks (individual songs) anyway, so you can cut out the gap between the two sides during editing. Afterwards you export the individual tracks as .mp3 or .wav or whatever.

I wouldn’t consider using an unfinished new version that didn’t do what I wanted when the current stable did. In fact, I don’t intend to upgrade to version 4 until it’s been established for some time.
