I am trying to edit some files from an audio book CD. Each chapter on the original CD is multiple tracks, but I would like each file to be one entire chapter (e.g. Track 1 = Chapter 1).
I’m trying to create a macro to combine the files into one while adding a small gap in between. I have learned so far to use the Align End to End command, but I’m not sure how to add a small gap in between the wave forms and export them as one .wav file.
Any advice is greatly appreciated! I am VERY new to using this program. I tried perusing the Script Reference page, but I couldn’t find what I was looking for.
Thanks for your input, but the snark was not necessary. I saw that post, but I am hoping for a solution using macros without the use of another program or Python.
Concatenate is the term for what you’re trying to do. You could do this with Audacity, but similar to what @Wrecks0 explained in the other thread linked above, you might find this easier with something that does this natively. I’d suggest generating the 2 sec silence and exporting from Audacity in the same format as your original files, matching bitrates, sample rates, etc. Then use a tool like Videomass which is really just a gui for ffmpeg to concatenate them. You could then drag-and-drop all the files you want to join with the silence in between and it wouldn’t involve any scripting. (I know you said you don’t want to use another program so I apologize for suggesting that but if anyone finds this in the future, maybe it can help them.)
