I am at my wit’s end. Nothing is working. Older versions of Audacity used to work, The current version won’t do anything. No recording, no sound, no indication that it is reading the input from the turntable at all. Just a complete flatline. I don’t know what else to do.
A USB turntable, I assume?
Make sure you’ve selected the USB device as your Audacity Recoding Device,
Check the recording volume slider which is now “hidden” under the recording meters.
Check the line/phono switch on the turntable. It may need to be set to “line”.
Check your Windows Permissions/Privacy Settings to make sure Audacity is allowed to use the turntable.
You can also check Listen To This Device to make sure Windows is getting a signal.

Yes, a USB turntable.
Followed most of this. I was not sure what you meant by the “hidden” recording volume slider though.
In any case, still nothing.
My version of Windows does not match with the Listen to this Device instructions, so I was not able to test that.
