My voice is recording but not using a mic

Wow! This fixed it! It was the “Enable Audio Enhancements” that was getting in the way. When I unchecked this box, and restarted Audacity, it now recognizes the Instrument 2 from UM2 on both the Mono and Stereo settings. The 48,000 Hz setting was not an issue. I left it at 48,000 Hz because the UM2 documentation said it supports that.

I noticed that your screen capture with the arrows did not include an “Enable Audio Enhancements” check box option - so you may want to make note of this for any future posts with a similar problem for UM2 recording on Instrument 2 channel.

My screenshot was with a Behringer UCA-202.
It’s quite unusual for there to be an “enhancements” option for USB devices (though I rarely use Windows these days). I guess Microsoft have started adding it because of all the cheap USB mics and headsets that are sold these days.
