I’ve been making my own ringtones using Audacity. I have an Android phone, so I don’t if they work on an expensive iPhone. I find a song that I want a small snippet of and put it into Audacity. Then I delete all except the few seconds I want for the ringtone. I save it as an mp3, send it to my phone, and Add Ringtone. Works great. So far, I have Secret Agent Man intro, a little bit of White Room and the How does it feel from Like A Rolling Stone. I also did the I Love Lucy theme for my wife’s phone.

I’ve been doing the same. So far, I’m up to about 40 self-made ringtones. It’s good fun, isn’t it?

Yes! I’m a musician with varied taste, so I can make them for whatever mood I’m in to hear. I get some looks when my phone rings in the grocery store.
