I have a Mac Mojave 10.14.6 and the 3.0.2 version of Audacity.
I am not able to get the built-in mic to switch to my mic. The drop-down choice is only built-in mic. What can I do to fix that?
Thanks,

Have you tried Transport (menu) > Rescan Audio Devices ?

No. I’m sorry, I don’t know what that is.
I’ve been working on a 438-page book, so I’ve been using my Audacity every day, and suddenly it wouldn’t let me in to use my mic.
I tried clicking on the link you gave me and wasn’t able to get a response.
Why would it suddenly do that? I’m in rather a panic as I need to get this book done.
Sara
Okay, I found Transport. When I clicked on Rescan Audio Devises, nothing happened
I still don’t know what “Rescan Audio Devises” does since nothing happened when I clicked on it, but I did discover a loose cable which solved things when I tightened it.
So sorry to bother you. I know you guys are busy, and I appreciate all of your great help. But I think this problem is solved for now.
Thanks so much,
Sara M. Bartlett
OK, I’ll mark this SOLVED.
