More rebust tone generator plz

I have version 2.3.3
Maximum freq I can generate is 22000 Hz. Which is not applicable in my situation.
Most noise decibel levels can detect noises up to 22 kHz.

Frequencies needed are above 22 khz, and up to 40 kHz, here recipe the more the better applies. There is just no reason why audacity has to stop at 22 kHz when mice, rats, cats, dogs, and other animals can hear frequencies way above, up to 100 kHz.

  1. I would like to see Audacity tone generator to generate up to 40 kHz tones.
  2. I would like to see Audacity tone generator to look like online tone generator from Michael Gieson or perhaps better and more user friendlier.

  1. I would like to see Audacity tone generator in continue play mode, that is, instead of creating a sample, you can just press play within the tone generator and the sound is played through speakers.

P.S. Plz remove spam checker on this site, it is horrible. If you think it is excellent that is only because your IP is not black listed by horrible bots. Select buses and bikes every time you visit yourself. Thank you.

It is physically impossible for digital audio to carry frequencies above the “Nyquist Frequency” (See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyquist_frequency).
When the sample rate is 44100 Hz (this is the default for Audacity and is the CD audio standard), the Nyquist frequency is 22050 Hz (half the sample rate).

To generate frequencies higher than 22050 Hz, the sample rate must be higher than 44100 Hz.

Try this:

  1. Launch Audacity
  2. Set the “Project Rate” (lower left corner of the main Audacity window) to 96000
  3. Generate a tone with a frequency of 40000 Hz

Note that most sound cards are unable to output much above 20 kHz (20000 Hz).
