Thank you for any information you can give me on this issue
We are a singing group
We did a recording with another individual----not sure of the equipment-----recorded using 4 tracks
Quality was OK but not happy with the mix-----(volume mostly)
I took the master and loaded it into Audacity to see if I could adjust the volumes
I cannot get it to show 4 tracks----it will load and play but only two tracks.
Can I get Audacity to load and show the 4 tracks
also I do not know how to play one track at a time. maybe it is split tracks?
any help
thanks
I figured out playing one track with mute and solo
still need help on the 4 track issue

I think we need to know a lot more about that part. A very natural thing would be to record four different microphones, but then mix them down to a stereo sound file for delivery to the client – you. Stereo sound files are super common, but multi-track ones are a good deal less so.
I don’t think I can even guess at how your show was shot. Multi-track recording on a computer is also pretty rare until you get up into the expensive systems.
Do you have two stereo sound files? That would work.

Another note: Music CDs (the kind that play in your car) are stereo. Full stop. But you can make a Data CD (like a flat, shiny hard drive) and put many different files on that. You could have multiple sound files on that kind of disk. Koz
