Missing "Tools" Menu Drop Down

I installed Audacity 2.1.2 in MX LInux using the built-in Package Installer. Everything works but there is no “Tools” drop down menu item in the top bar. All other menu items are there. Please see attached image.

How can I get the Tools menu to appear and function?

These are the tools

The current release version of Audacity is 2.3.2. Unfortunately the main Linux repositories are a few versions behind. 2.1.2 doesn’t have a “Tools” menu, but many of the tools are in other menus.

Nothing I can see in those items you highlighted to run Nyquist code. I thought even the older versions of Audacity allowed that. Do I need to install a plug-in?

In Audacity 2.1, (which is old), Nyquist Prompt is in the effect menu.

As Trebor wrote, the “Nyquist Prompt” is in the Effect menu.

Are you using an old version of MX Linux? The current version of Debian (on which it is based) has Audacity 2.2.1 or later.

OK. I see it now in the “Effects” drop-down menu. Thanks. Hope the repo gets updated soon with a newer version.
