.mid file & SOUND Canvas VA not work

Hi

I’m on Arch Linux KDE.

Play a .mid file in Audacity: no sound, although it works on Windows 11.

yabridge
yabridgectl
Roland Sound Canvas VA MIDI VST plugin https://archive.org/download/roland-sound-canvas-va , Sound Canvas VA v1.1.6 (64-bit).7z , Setup SOUND Canvas VA v1.1.6.exe (Official: Roland - Sound Canvas VA | Software Synthesizer ), installed via Steam, Proton Experimental.

Audacity, Effect, Plugin Manager, Sound Canvas VA /home/a/.vst/yabridge/Roland VS/SOUND Canvas VA.so Enabled, OK:
Effect or Command at /home/a/.vst/yabridge/Roland VS/SOUND Canvas VA.so failed to register:
Could not load the library

Also it not works on Windows 11.

Thanks.

I’m a Windows guy and I don’t use MIDI but I’m pretty sure Audacity doesn’t support virtual instruments. In Windows I think it uses whatever’s built-into Windows.

Indeed it’s C:\Windows\System32\drivers\gm.dls

Finally I use Qtractor, see [SO]Route the MIDI output of a video game to the input of a VST plugin / Multimedia and Games / Arch Linux Forums .
