Can’t get metadata to save in version 3.4.2

I open a file … create the audio … change the metadata ‘title’ and click “set default” … but upon creating a new file, the ‘title’ reverts back to blank, despite selecting “set default”

This did not happen in a previous version. I CAN save the metadata as a template, then load that template each time, but it didn’t used to work that way … it used to save the default, and then automatically keep that setting every time you created a new file.

I see others have had this issue–it appears with no solution yet. Are there plans to correct this apparent bug in a future update?

Have the same issue with audacity on windows 11.

Hi,
I have same problem (Audacity 3.4.2, Win11).
I’m digitising old vinyl albums and have to reload my saved metadata template (artist/album/year) when exporting every track.
I’m not exactly crying myself to sleep over this but it would be nice to have as it was in the previous version.
