Make existing metronome sound visible in recording waveform

Hi, am learning guitar and apparently have some timing issues. I am trying to see this problem by recording myself playing with a metronome and looking at the waveform in Audacity. Trouble is, the metronome doesn’t stand out and is basically invisible. Please can someone offer advice on how to make a pre-existing metronome sound more visible.

BTW All the searches I have done on this issue all throw up Audacity’s own metronome but unless there is some way to hear this while recording, its not going to help.

TIA

Wallport

There is.
Ensure that “Transport menu > Transport options > Overdub” is enabled.

Thanks Steve - worked great (as soon as I realised that you had to press shift record to start at the beginning  )
