Hi there,
I have created a small macro in Audacity 3.7.0 under Manjaro Linux to normalize sound files and then export them as an mp3 file.
Unfortunately I am not able to change the storage folder and the settings of the mp3 encoder in the macro manager directly.
The macro always uses the Documents folder and a 128 bit encoder setting although a different folder and parameters are set in the normal mp3 export dialog.
As far as I know, the transfer of the storage folder and the encoder parameters from the normal export should be the normal behavior.
I suspect that this is a bug in the 3.7.0 program version and ask for a correction.
Hi,
On my Linux Mint PC the built-in ‘MP3-Conversion’ macro already does Normalise & Export to MP3. What else does yours do? Could you export yours and post the contents on here so others can try it, please?

Well, imho the point is not what the macro does but what it does not.
I want to convert projects to mp3 with parameters of my choice and save them to the folder of my choice. The unchangeable default for “macro” mp3 export right now is 128 bit fixed and the Documents folder.
Normal behavior afaik should be that Audacity uses my settings from the “non-macro” Export Audio settings for the macro but it does not do that. So I guess it is a bug…
But to answer your question: the macro only consists of Loundness Normalisation and Export as MP3 …
Addition: Ok, I see now that the mp3-Export macro provided with Audacity does the same thing. Anyhow - it provides the same error as decribed above.
